Hi @amirhhashemi, could you please share your thoughts on this PR? |
|
Thank you for taking the time to work on this. Unfortunately, I will need to close this PR. We have a limited number of volunteers managing the documentation, and we are generally cautious about adding new content, especially for topics not directly related to Solid. Ultimately, we are responsible for maintaining it. I looked into Northflank, and it seems to be a relatively new platform with less adoption compared to established services like Cloudflare and Netlify, so it is not a priority for us at this time. If I misunderstood anything or if Northflank offers unique features that could change my perspective, please feel free to create an issue so we can discuss it further. |

Hi @amirhhashemi , thanks for your reply. Just to clarify, Northflank is not a new platform. We have been around since 2019, older than many cloud platforms, raised $24M+, and are used by companies like Sentry, Writer, Corewave, and many more. While we focus on enterprise users, we also have an active community of over 50k developers using our managed cloud. The goal of this PR is to make it easier for Solid users to deploy to AWS, GCP, Azure, or our managed cloud. If platforms like Railway, FlightControl, and others can have a place in the docs, I believe Northflank should too, especially given our broader enterprise capabilities. |

@LadyBluenotes @atilafassina i would also love to hear your thoughts on this too. otherwise, we can close the PR. |

Hi @AdeboyeDN, like Amir had said, thanks for your PR. We genuinely appreciate the time and effort you put into it – that never goes unnoticed. We're in the middle of a docs revamp right now. Our team is pretty small, and we just haven't had a chance to get to this particular section yet. We'll actually be removing pages for some other providers soon. It's not that we don't want to show support for different platforms, it's just really tough for us to keep up with any changes they make. It's much easier for us (and better for users!) if the deployment instructions live directly on the platform's site. We want our docs to be accurate and the more moving parts there is, the more difficult it is for us to do so. I hope you understand! |
